Sunbeam Alpine tilh\u00f8rer samme kategori sportsbiler, men er ikke like ofte \u00e5 se.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Tilh\u00f8rte Rootes-gruppen<\/h3>\n<p>Sunbeam Alpine ble produsert fra 1959 til 1968, p\u00e5 samme tid som Hillman var et popul\u00e6rt bilmerke. Hillman var solide og driftssikre biler, og Sunbeam Alpine fikk blant annet motorer fra Hillman-produksjonen. Rootes ble som kjent kj\u00f8pt opp av Chrysler i 1967, men allerede f\u00f8r d\u00e9t, p\u00e5gikk det et samarbeid hvor Sunbeam Alpine og Tiger ble markedsf\u00f8rt i USA gjennom Crysler-forhandlere. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Alpine ble produsert i 5 forskjellige serier:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serie I: 1959 &#8211; 1960<\/li>\n<li>Serie II: 1960 &#8211; 1963<\/li>\n<li>Serie III: 1963 &#8211; 1964<\/li>\n<li>Serie IV: 1964 &#8211; 1965<\/li>\n<li>Serie V: 1965 &#8211; 1968<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nDet er ikke s\u00e5 lett \u00e5 finne visuelle forskjeller mellom seriene. Fra serie IV forsvant finnene bak og bilene fikk trekantvinduer og gummi p\u00e5 st\u00f8tfangerhornene. Motorene i seriene fulgte Hillman hvor serie I fikk 1,5 liters motor senere oppgradert til 1,6 og fra 1965 1725 ccm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44134\" var et prosjekt dannet av <em>Carroll Shelby<\/em>. Han hadde tidligere satt V8 inn i AC Cobra  og gjort modellen om til et r\u00e5skinn kalt Shelby Cobra. N\u00e5 gjorde han det samme med Sunbeam Alpine. Han satte inn Ford&#8217;s 260 V8 i Sunbeam Alpine fra 1964 til 1967. Modellen <em>Alpine Tigre<\/em> ble bygget i to serier. Serie II fikk Ford&#8217;s 289 V8 motor, ogs\u00e5 det en &laquo;Mustang-motor&raquo;. Den ble produsert helt p\u00e5 slutten av produksjonen. I 1967 ble Rootes kj\u00f8pt opp av Chrysler, og det fantes ingen tilsvarende V8 motor i Chrysler-konsernet som passet i Alpine, skj\u00f8nt Tiger hadde tidligere blitt markedsf\u00f8rt i USA gjennom
