Renault 4CV og etterf\u00f8lgeren Renault Dauphine (t.h.)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Den var en etterf\u00f8lger etter den popul\u00e6re Renault 4CV og arvet hekkmotor-l\u00f8sningen og uavhengig fj\u00e6ring p\u00e5 alle 4 hjul, men fikk et mer moderne karosseri.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Fransk folkebil<\/h3>\n<p>Renault Dauphine formet 50- og 60-tallets bilpark. Den tok det franske markedet med storm og toppet salgslistene da den kom. Produksjonen startet  v\u00e5ren 1956 og fortsatte til slutten av 1966 &#8211; og s\u00e5ledes produsert parallelt med etterf\u00f8lgeren Renault 8 i flere \u00e5r. Franske bilprodusenter produserer ofte b\u00e5de ny og gammel modell noen \u00e5r. En ganske stor endring var i 1960 da Renault innf\u00f8rte noe de kalte for <em>Aerostable<\/em>. Det er et hjelpeavfj\u00e6ringssystem som var basert p\u00e5 luftfylte gummiputer. Hensikten var \u00e5 skape bedre demping. Andre endringer dreier seg om setetrekk og felger. Det finnes noen sm\u00e5 utvendige detaljer som kan hjelpe oss med \u00e5 tidfeste bilene. Fra 1958 ble den midtplasserte chrome-listen p\u00e5 frontpanseret fjernet. Fra 1961 ble plassering av blinklysene endret fra sidemark\u00f8rer til 2 runde blinklys foran og blinklys inkorporert i nye, st\u00f8rre baklys. Fra 1963 ble &laquo;Renault&raquo; teksten fjernet fra frontskjermene. Det ble laget spesialutgaver som Ondine og Gordini. Ondine var en luksuri\u00f8s utgave av Dauphine med delikat interi\u00f8r og mer chrome p\u00e5 utsiden. Gordini var en sprekere, mer sportslig versjon. Det ble ogs\u00e5 laget en modell kalt 1093 &#8211; en produksjon for \u00e5 homologisere en modell for bilsport.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Motorisering<\/h3>\n<p>Flere modeller &#8211; fra Renault 4CV til biler produsert tidlig p\u00e5 80-tallet benyttet Renaults <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Renault_Billancourt_engine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Billancourt-motor<\/strong><\/a>. Motoren ble enten frontmontert i biler som Renault 4 og 6 eller hekkmontert i 4CV og Dauphine. I alle installasjonene satt girkassa foran motoren. Motorene hadde s\u00e5kalte v\u00e5te sylinderf\u00f4ringer, det vil si at sylinderne var separate (utskiftbare) r\u00f8r omgitt av kj\u00f8levann. Standardutgavene av Renault Dauphine hadde en 850 kubikk motor med cirka 30 HK. Mest kjent ble han for \u00e5 transformere Citroen&#8217;er til cabriolet &#8211; spesielt DS &#8211; som ble bygget i en elegant 2-d\u00f8rs variant med kalesje. Henri Chapron designet ogs\u00e5 en l\u00f8sning for Renault Dauphine. F\u00f8rste eksemplar var klar i 1958 &#8211; 2 \u00e5r etter at produksjonen av standardmodellen startet. Cabriolet-versjonen kostet da dobbelt s\u00e5 mye som standardversjonen. Den ble ingen suksess. Kun et titalls biler skal ha blitt ombygget &#8211; og kun en h\u00e5ndfull er igjen.
