Ford 100E kom i to utgaver &#8211; Anglia og Prefect. Den vesentligste forskjellen mellom dem var antall d\u00f8rer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Nytt karosseri<\/h3>\n<p>Anglia og Prefect ble lansert like f\u00f8r krigen br\u00f8t ut. Da produksjonen kom i gang igjen var det med et lett oppgradert f\u00f8rkrigsdesign. I 1953 kom 100E &#8211; samme st\u00f8rrelse og motorisering som forgjengerne &#8211; men n\u00e5 basert p\u00e5 et selvb\u00e6rende karosseri. Et vellykket 50-talls design som holdt seg godt i mange \u00e5r. Siste modell\u00e5r var 1959 da ble den avl\u00f8st av Anglia 105E med skr\u00e5stilt bakvindu. Ford 100E hold seg p\u00e5 veiene til langt utover 70-tallet &#8211; ogs\u00e5 her hjemme.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Motoren<\/h3>\n<p>Anglia og Prefect beholdt samme motor gjennom hele produksjonstiden. Det var kun ett motorvalg, samme som satt i f\u00f8rkrigsmodellen &#8211; en 1,2 liters 4 sylindret sideventilert motor. Fordelen med sideventilerte motorer som denne, er at de er enklere \u00e5 produsere. Toppen best\u00e5r av ett stykke metall uten bevegelige deler &#8211; &laquo;flattop head&raquo;. Ulempen er at forbrenningskammeret er L-formet s\u00e5nn at luftstr\u00f8mmene fra innsug og eksos ikke kan g\u00e5 i rette linjer. Utformingen av forbrenningskamrene gj\u00f8r at sideventilerte motorer ikke f\u00e5r like h\u00f8y kompresjon som motorer med overliggende ventiler. Med kun 36 hester og 3-trinns girkasse var 100E ingen racer. For oss som skrudde motorer for noen ti\u00e5r siden, er det forn\u00f8yelig \u00e5 lese i <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ford_Sidevalve_engine\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Wikipedias innlegg om Ford sidevalve engine<\/strong><\/a> hvordan man trimmet 100E-motorene.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>skifte eksosmanifold<\/li>\n<li>montere doble forgassere<\/li>\n<li>sette inn stivere ventilfj\u00e6rer<\/li>\n<li>skifte til tynnere toppakning<\/li>\n<li>sette inn spissere kamaksel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fords sideventilerte motor var en slags &laquo;potetmotor&raquo; p\u00e5 50-tallet og dukket opp i mange modeller &#8211; b\u00e5de Ford og andre merker. Visuelle endringer er grillen som fikk rutete netting i stedet for horisontale ribber. Videre fikk den nye frontlys og baklys, samt en bredere bakrute. Disse endringene ble f\u00f8rt videre i Ford Popular &#8211; som var en &laquo;continuation model&raquo; for 100E. Da Anglia 100E ble introdusert i 1953, fortsatte Ford nemlig produksjonen av forgjengeren med f\u00f8rkrigs-looken under modellnavnet Popular som et billig alternativ til 100E. Da 100E ble avl\u00f8st av nye Anglia-modell (105E), fortsatte produksjonen av 100E-serien under Popular-navnet frem til 1962.<\/p>\n<p>Ford UK hadde ogs\u00e5 3-d\u00f8rs stasjonsvogner og en varebil i modellprogrammene. Det skulle v\u00e6re f\u00f8rste gang Ford brukte modellnavnet <em>Escort<\/em>. <em>Squire<\/em> var en mer sjelden og eksklusiv variant med blant annet trepaneler p\u00e5 sidene. Varebilvarianten fikk modellkode 300E &#8211; men delte mekanikk med 100E. De ble drevet av vakuumluft fra innsugningsmanifolden &#8211; en l\u00f8sning som var vanlig i f\u00f8rkrigsmodeller. Vakuumet ble samlet opp i en tank i motorrommet. N\u00e5r man s\u00f8ker p\u00e5 nettet for \u00e5 finne spesialitetene med 100E, kommer det opp flere historier om vindusviskerne. Av en eller annen grunn sluttet de \u00e5 fungere n\u00e5r motoren gikk p\u00e5 h\u00f8ye turtall. S\u00e5 da man giret ned for \u00e5 ta en kritisk forbikj\u00f8ring i regnv\u00e6r, kunne viskerne slutte \u00e5 virke.
