Dette ble en bil med overlegne kj\u00f8reegenskaper. I reklamen ble modellens sikkerhet fremhevet &#8211; og da var det den aktive sikkerheten man tenkte p\u00e5 &#8211; det \u00e5 komme seg trygt frem. Modellen ble kalt Traction avant fordi det ikke fantes andre konkurrenter med forhjulsdrift. Modellnavnet var 11CV for biler med 1,9-motoren &#8211; som de fleste hadde. Det er en motor som ogs\u00e5 gikk i Citroen H van og ble videref\u00f8rt i nye DS\/ID fra 1955.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Gangsterbilen<\/h3>\n<p>Den lavbygde Citroen&#8217;en kunne fint kj\u00f8re fra datidens politibiler. Derfor ble dette gangsternes yndlingsbil &#8211; foreviget i diverse filmer fra \u00e5rene like f\u00f8r og etter krigen. Man trenger \u00e5 se bilen med egne \u00f8yne for \u00e5 forst\u00e5 fremskrittet. Det er uvanlig \u00e5 se en s\u00e5 gammel bil ligge s\u00e5 tett mot veien. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modeller<\/h3>\n<p>Motormessig var det 1,9-literen som dominerte &#8211; i alle fall etter krigen &#8211; og i de bilene vi ser i dag. Det ble ogs\u00e5 bygget biler med 6-sylindrede motorer &#8211; og i forlengede utgaver som Familiale og Commerciale med bakd\u00f8r &#8211; samt pickup og cabriolet. Modellnavnet var basert p\u00e5 skatteklassen bilen havnet i &#8211; basert p\u00e5 motorst\u00f8rrelse. Citroen 11CV var basert p\u00e5 1,9-liters motoren, mens Citroen 7CV hadde mindre motor 1,5\/1,6 og 15CV hadde 6-sylindret motor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_84097\"
