Talbot<\/h3>\n<p>Peugeot 309 ble utviklet som etterf\u00f8lgeren etter Talbot Horizon &#8211; en helt ny Talbot. Men etter at PSA hadde besluttet \u00e5 avslutte Talbot som eget merke, tok de modellen inn i sitt eget modellprogram og lanserte den som den nye 309. Simca-motoren (fra Simca 1100 og Horizon) ble overf\u00f8rt til den nye modellen. Den fikk modellnavnet 309 &#8211; s\u00e5 det ikke skulle bli noen konflikt i forhold til 305 som var i samme bilklasse &#8211; eller andre modeller. Designet ble utformet internt hos Peugeot. Faceliften innebar blant annet ny grill, nytt baklysarrangement og bakluke med lavere lastekant. Dessuten ble det gjort endringer i interi\u00f8ret.
