Ett hjul i hvert hj\u00f8rne, tverrstilt motor med framhjulsdrift.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Mini, Cooper og Rallies<\/h3>\n<p>Da BMC lanserte Mini i 1959, kom den b\u00e5de som Austin og Morris. Den eneste forskjellen mellom dem var fargeutvalget og grillen. For bilkj\u00f8perne var den nye modellen en stor overraskelse. Den var mindre enn andre biler i samme prisklasse og den hadde meget sm\u00e5 hjul. Den manglet ogs\u00e5 bagasjeplass. Teknikken var helt ny. Bilen var utstyrt med gummifj\u00e6ring og den tverrstilte motoren drev forhjulene. Men den hadde sv\u00e6rt gode kj\u00f8reegenskaper, og gjorde umiddelbart sin debut i bill\u00f8p. Da Mini-Cooper kom p\u00e5 markedet med st\u00f8rre motor i 1961, ble den ogs\u00e5 en vinner i st\u00f8rre internasjonale rallies. Mini-Cooper fikk st\u00f8rre motor i 1964 og det resulterte i seier i Rallye Monte Carlo. Modellutvalget ble utvidet med varebil, pick-up og stasjonsvogn. Se lenke til artikkel under.<\/em>)<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Den f\u00f8rste modellen ble produsert fra 1959 til 1966. Den er lett gjenkjennelig p\u00e5 grillen som er sigd-formet. Modellene fra 1968 fikk en grill formet som et mer firkantet trapes. Mk II, som ble produsert mellom 1967-1970 er gjenkjennelig ved at den fortsatt hadde skyvevinduer foran. Vinduer som kunne \u00e5pnes med sveiv, kom ikke f\u00f8r mk III. Da forsvant ogs\u00e5 de dype d\u00f8rlommene som bidro til \u00e5 gi god plassf\u00f8lelse inne i kupeen og p\u00e5 utsiden fikk den mer tidsriktige d\u00f8rh\u00e5ndtak. Bilen er god for 145 km\/t og kan tilbakelegge 0-100 p\u00e5 cirka 15 sekunder. Da det britiske bilmagasinet Autocar testet et pr\u00f8veeksemplar i 1963 konkluderte de med f\u00f8lgende:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The additional costs &#8230;. will be justified for those who
