Tre (falske) luftehull p\u00e5 hver side, antyder at Special tilh\u00f8rer den &laquo;lille&raquo; serien, Buick&#8217;s &laquo;entry-level&raquo; modell for 50-\u00e5rene. De store Buick&#8217;ene hadde nemlig <em>fire<\/em> hull p\u00e5 hver side. Likevel fremst\u00e5r Special som en fullsizer, &#8211; ogs\u00e5 p\u00e5 motorsiden. Buick har alltid henvendt seg til kj\u00f8pere med eksklusiv smak &#8211; og drivverket i en 1957-modell ville h\u00f8yst sannsynlig v\u00e6re 5,3 eller 6-liter V8.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Seks varianter<\/h3>\n<p>Special var, forst\u00e5elig nok, Buick\u00a8s mest popul\u00e6re modell. Den ble tilbudt i 6 forskjellige varianter &#8211; 2 eller 4 d\u00f8rer sedan, 2 eller 4 d\u00f8rer Riviera Hardtop, 3 eller 5 d\u00f8rer stasjonsvogn, eller 2 d\u00f8rer convertible.
