H\u00e5ndlaget &#8211; made in England.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Om modellen<\/h3>\n<p>Modellen ble produsert mellom 1992 og 2003. Den har glassfiber-karosseri p\u00e5 st\u00e5lr\u00f8rsramme, V8-motor fra Rover av samme typer som ble benyttet i Range Rover. Chimaera har gode ytelser, lav vekt &#8211; utvilsomt sportsbil, uten \u00e5 v\u00e6re kompromissl\u00f8st sportslig. Britisk bilpresse (CAR og Autocar) ga gode omtaler av bilen. Noe annet ville v\u00e6re merkelig, ettersom det p\u00e5 1990-tallet ble produsert f\u00e6rre  &laquo;fine&raquo; biler i Storbritannia enn i dag, og TVR var utvilsomt engelsk &#8211; p\u00e5 godt og vondt. De har v\u00e6rt i &laquo;hardt v\u00e6r&raquo; p\u00e5 grunn av d\u00e5rlig kvalitet, og det finnes historier om glipp, feil, og shortcuts i TVR sitt produksjonsapparat. Chimaera-bilene omtales i dag som gode biler. F\u00f8r kj\u00f8p m\u00e5 man gj\u00f8re de samme unders\u00f8kelsene som man m\u00e5 gj\u00f8re for andre likedanne sportsbiler. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Ved produksjonsstart ble det installert 4,0 V8-motorer i bilene, som fikk &laquo;400&raquo; i modellbetegnelsene. Motorene var de samme som ble benyttet i samtidige Range Rover-biler, og hadde alts\u00e5 samme spesifikasjoner og oppgraderinger som Range Rover. Tidligere versjoner fikk girkasser fra Rover. Servostyring ble ikke standard f\u00f8r fra \u00e5rsmodell 1999.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDet kom et par facelifts midtveis i produksjonen. \u00c9n synbar endring var grillen som f\u00f8rst var en netting-grill og senere erstattet med \u00e9n horisontal glassfiber-list. Hovedlysene ble ogs\u00e5 endret flere ganger. I ettertid kan det v\u00e6re vanskelig \u00e5 fastsl\u00e5 \u00e5rsmodell ettersom det kan ha blitt gjort endringer underveis.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Som hobbybil<\/h3>\n<p>De tingene man skal se etter, er de samme som for alle sportsbiler bygget p\u00e5 st\u00e5lramme og glassfiber. Rust i ramme kan v\u00e6re ett generelt problem, som er vanskelig \u00e5 se med det blotte \u00f8ye. TVR har klasse &#8211; ikke p\u00e5 grunn av kvalitet og luksus &#8211; men for at de er britiske. Man kan si at TVR er typiske entusiast-biler (ikke for hvem-som-helst). Man b\u00f8r like klassiske engelske sportsbiler som Alvis, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lotus, for \u00e5 nevne noen. Det er f\u00e5 biler til salgs, s\u00e5 det er ikke mulig \u00e5 lage noen prisstatistikk. Man kan f\u00e5 en fin Chimaera fra 300 000 kroner opp til 600 000 &#8211; avhengig av \u00e5rsmodell, kj\u00f8relengde og tilstand. Prisene kan v\u00e6re stigende.
