M\u00e5let m\u00e5 ha v\u00e6rt \u00e5 redusere produksjonskostnadene slik at man kunne tilby mye bil for pengene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">En konvensjonell Renault<\/h3>\n<p>Markedsmessig skulle Renault 12 etterf\u00f8lge Renault 8 og 10. Teknisk sett var den annerledes enn b\u00e5de tidligere hekkmotoriserte biler og de forhjulsdrevne Renault 4 og 16. Motorplasseringen var langstilt med drift p\u00e5 forhjulene. Det fine hjulopphenget fra R4 og R16 ble ikke benyttet. I stedet for plassbesparende torsjonsfj\u00e6rer fikk Renault 12 spiralfj\u00e6rer p\u00e5 alle 4 hjul og stiv bakaksel. Renault hadde lenge forfektet uavhengig fj\u00e6ring p\u00e5 alle hjul. Litt uvisst hvorfor, men bilene var sannsynligvis billig \u00e5 produsere, &#8211; og f\u00f8lgelig kunne Renault tilby mye bil for pengene. Her hjemme ble Renault 12 veldig popul\u00e6r &#8211; av samme grunn &#8211; mye bil for pengene. Innvendig opplevde jeg bilen som rommelig og et hyggelig sted \u00e5 v\u00e6re. Det eneste jeg savnet, var armlener i ford\u00f8rene. Der var det bare en stropp til \u00e5 lukke d\u00f8ren med.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorie<\/h3>\n<p>Modellen ble produsert i 11 \u00e5r &#8211; fra 1969 til 1980 med en midlife facelift for 1976-modellen. Facelift&#8217;en besto i hovedsak av ny grill, nye st\u00f8tfangere, nye baklys og nytt dashbord.  <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_71536\"
