Dessverre gikk ikke alt etter planen for British Leyland.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">V8-motor<\/h3>\n<p>&laquo;The Stag&raquo; med en hjort p\u00e5 grillemblemet fikk ett motorvalg &#8211; en nyutviklet 3-liters V8 motor med doble Str\u00f8mberg-forgassere som ga en effekt p\u00e5 147 HK og et dreiemoment p\u00e5 226 Nm. Kundene kunne velge 4-trinns manuell girkasse, med overdrive som ekstrautstyr, eller 3-trinns automatkasse fra Borg Warner. Oppgitt toppfart var 185 km\/t og 0-60 mph kunne tilbakelegges p\u00e5 9,3 sekunder.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Triumph Stag ble produsert fra 1970 til 1978 i to varianter &#8211; cabriolet og coup\u00e9. Fra 1973 fikk modellen en liten facelift. Tidligere Triumph-modeller hadde solgt godt i USA, men Stag fikk raskt et d\u00e5rlig rykte p\u00e5 grunn av flere type motorproblemer &#8211; enkelte problemer forsterket seg p\u00e5 biler med automat og aircondition. Jeg fulgte med p\u00e5 amerikansk bilpresse p\u00e5 70-tallet og kan bekrefte dette. Eksporten av Stag til USA floppet, rett og slett. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">The Stag som hobbybil<\/h3>\n<p>I dag finnes det fiks for noen av problemene fra 70-tallet, blant annet problemene med kj\u00f8ling og korrosjon i motoren. En del biler ble relativt tidlig ombygget til \u00e5 bruke andre motorer som den opprinnelige 3,5-liters V8-motoren fra Rover (Range Rover), eller 2,5-liters sekseren fra TR6. Noen satte ogs\u00e5 inn en V6 fra engelsk Ford. Jeg tror verdien vil holde seg best for biler med den originale 3,0 liter motoren. Triumph Stag regnes som klassikere og er popul\u00e6re som hobbybiler. En av de tidlige bilene var en Triumph Stag. Battericellene skal v\u00e6re av samme type som Tesla benytter.
