Rekord E er s\u00e5ledes nummer 5 i rekken, og siste gang Rekord ble benyttet som modellnavn. Rekord var i produksjon fra 1953 til 1986. Den siste Rekorden var i produksjon fra 1978 \u00e5rsmodell til og med 1986. Den fikk en facelift til modell\u00e5ret 1983. De to seriene omtales ofte som E1 og E2. De mest popul\u00e6re var 4 d\u00f8rs sedan og 5 d\u00f8rs stasjonsvogn, men den kunne ogs\u00e5 f\u00e5es som 2 d\u00f8rs sedan og 3 d\u00f8rs stasjonsvogn. De sistnevnte er mer sjeldne &#8211; og av mange regnet som vakrere. Motorene man finner i de fleste Rekordene, er 2,0 S med 100 HK. Andre motorer er 2,0E med 110 HK. Rekord E2 kunne leveres med 2,2i &#8211; en motor som ble valgt av mange. Diesel-alternativet var 2,1 D og 2,3 D samt 2,3 TD for E2. Standard girkasser var 4 trinn manuell, men biler etter facelift kunne bestille 5 trinns girkasser. 3 trinns automat var tilvalg.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52367\" Som nybil var den popul\u00e6r som firmabil, ofte valgt av kunder med god r\u00e5d. I neste ledd ble den kj\u00f8rt som familiebiler for folk flest. Til slutt ble de ofte brukt som ungdomsbiler. Mange endte opp som r\u00e5nebiler. Det er faktisk sv\u00e6rt f\u00e5 velholdte eksemplarer igjen. Den gr\u00f8nne Rekorden er pre facelift E1 fotografert ved Frognerkilen Marina i Oslo. Den r\u00f8de 2-d\u00f8rs bilen er en Rekord 2.0 S E1 som er fotografert p\u00e5 Veteranbildagen 2022 p\u00e5 Tofte. Ogs\u00e5 den elfenbensgule E1-bilen er fotografert samme sted. Den hvite bilen er en Rekord E2 som deltok p\u00e5 Veteranbildag i Skien 2026. Bildene av den beige bilen i vinterlys er tatt p\u00e5 Fornebu.
