Da den nye modellen dukket opp for modell\u00e5ret 1975, virket den tidsriktig korrekt. Ford introduserte firkantede former til Cortina\/Taunus (1976) og Granada (1978). I ettertid har kanskje etterf\u00f8lgeren kommet litt i skyggen av sin eldre bror, den opprinnelige mk1 Escort?<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Facelifted i 1979<\/h3>\n<p>Mk2 ble produsert frem til 1981, da den ble avl\u00f8st av den helt omarbeidede mk3. Modellen fikk en facelift for modell\u00e5ret 1979 i form av ny front med firkantede lykter &#8211; det eneste p\u00e5 forgjengeren som <em>ikke<\/em> var firkantet.<\/p>\n<figure
