De var veldig poul\u00e6re langt ut 80-tallet. S\u00e5 forsvant de. Jeg h\u00e5per at det er mange Cortina mk2-prosjekter p\u00e5 gang, og at vi f\u00e5r se dem p\u00e5 veien snart. Cortina var enkle kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yer. De var utsatt for rust og enkelte komponenter var lite holdbare, spesielt de som var merket &laquo;Lucas&raquo;. Heldigvis er Cortina&#8217;ene mulige \u00e5 reparere for gj\u00f8r-det-selv mekanikere, &#8211; og s\u00e5ledes godt egnet for bilhobby. F\u00e5 biler vekker s\u00e5 mye oppsikt p\u00e5 bilutstillinger som en vakker Ford Cortina mk2.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Varianter<\/h3>\n<p>Cortina mk2 i Norge besto i hovedsak av f\u00f8lgende valgmuligheter: 1300 Deluxe, 1600 Deluxe, 1600 Super og 1600 GT. De mer sjeldne utgavene, 1600E og Lotus var vel mulig \u00e5 oppdrive, men langt fra noe vanlig syn. Modellvariantene besto av 2- og 4-d\u00f8rer sedan, 5-d\u00f8rer stasjonsvogn, og mulighet for cabriolet gjennom firmaet Crayford som spesialiserte seg p\u00e5 \u00e5 konvertere engelske Ford&#8217;er av Fords Kent-motorer &#8211; OHV, med Crossflow &#8211; et konsept med innsug p\u00e5 ene siden og eksos p\u00e5 andre siden for optimal gjennomstr\u00f8mming. 1300 ytet 54 HK, 1600 Deluxe og Super ytet 75 HK og GT 82 HK. Super hadde mer utstyr enn Deluxe, blant annet mer krom. GT&#8217;en hadde samme blokk som 1600 Deluxe og Super, men annen forgasser og utforming p\u00e5 eksosmanifoden. Eksoslyden ble litt t\u00f8ffere i GT. Dessuten hadde den b\u00f8tteseter og full instrumentering med et midtstilt instrument-cluster h\u00f8yt oppe p\u00e5 dashbordet.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Underholdende \u00e5 kj\u00f8re<\/h3>\n<p>Ford Cortina mk2 er lettkj\u00f8rte og morsomme \u00e5 kj\u00f8re. Ikke p\u00e5 motorvei og i h\u00f8ye hastigheter, &#8211;  men p\u00e5 landeveier, gjerne p\u00e5 grus. Man kunne kj\u00f8re aktivt med den. Min f\u00f8rste bil var en 1970-modell 1600 Deluxe &#8211; totalt fri for antispinn og ESP, s\u00e5nn at du lett kunne legge opp bilen inn mot svingene, bruke gassen til \u00e5 styre bilen gjennom &#8211; gjerne s\u00e5 grusen sprutet ut i skogen. 75-hesteren reagerte spontant p\u00e5 gass-p\u00e5drag.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ikke konstruert for vinter<\/h3>\n<p>I likhet med andre biler p\u00e5 denne tiden, var ikke vinterkj\u00f8ringsegenskapene s\u00e6rlig gode. P\u00e5 vinterveier m\u00e5tte man &laquo;gjete&raquo; bilen konstant med rattet for \u00e5 holde den p\u00e5 st\u00f8dig kurs. For \u00e5 komme opp bratte bakker var det n\u00f8dvendig med tyngde bak. De f\u00f8rste modellene hadde samme 1500-motoren som Cortina mk1, men fikk de nye motorene fra 1967. For modell\u00e5ret 1969 kom en liten, kosmetisk facelift. Grillen ble litt endret. Cortina-emblemet midt i grillen fikk bl\u00e5 omramming i stedet for r\u00f8d, og grillen ble mer matt-svart. Det kom &laquo;FORD&raquo; krombokstaver foran p\u00e5 panseret og bak p\u00e5 bagasjelokket. Innvendig fikk den nytt 3-eket ratt med paddet pute, og nye innvendige d\u00f8rh\u00e5ndtak og vindussveiv. De fleste av oss som kj\u00f8rte Cortina, hadde enten <em>Deluxe<\/em> eller <em>Super<\/em> &#8211; og noen hadde <em>GT<\/em>. De f\u00e6rreste hadde h\u00f8rt om \u00abE\u00bb &#8211; Exexutive &#8211; toppmodellen for britiske salgssjefer. Cortina 1600E hadde n\u00f8ttetre i interi\u00f8ret og alt man kunne dr\u00f8mme om av utstyr p\u00e5 den tiden. Motoren var &laquo;Kent&raquo; 1600 crossflow motor trimmet fra 75 HK til 82 HK med samme forgasser og eksosmanifold som i Cortina GT. En liten detalj man kan merke seg, er det snobbete emblemet p\u00e5 C-stolpen som danner en fin dekorasjon spesielt p\u00e5 biler med vinyltak. Det var to flotte eksemplarer av vakre 1600E p\u00e5 treffet. Den ene var produsert s\u00e5 sent som i 1971. Da var allerede Cortina mk3 i produksjon. Sannsynligvis m\u00e5 det ha v\u00e6rt fortsatt god ettersp\u00f8rsel etter den &laquo;gamle&raquo; executive-modellen.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_49976\"
