S\u00f8stermodellen Daimler kunne leveres med V8. Daimlermodellene skiller seg for \u00f8vrig ut ved at det er st\u00f8pt riller \u00f8verst p\u00e5 grillen og at panser-ornamentet &laquo;Leaping cat&raquo; mangler.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nP\u00e5 papiret opph\u00f8rte produksjonen av Mk2 i 1967 og ble erstattet av Jaguar 340 og 240. Se mer om disse modellene nederst i innlegget.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Nye veteranbiler<\/h3>\n<p>Mk2 er sv\u00e6rt popul\u00e6r som veteranbil, og flere firmaer har spesialisert seg p\u00e5 \u00e5 renovere disse bilene til n\u00e6rmest nybil-tilstand. De foretar ogs\u00e5 en mild oppgradering basert p\u00e5 deler fra senere modeller, som bakaksel med uavhengig fj\u00e6ring fra S-type og bremser fra XJ. Inspector Morse &#8211; en aldrende politimann og gentleman med sans for klassisk musikk og vellagret whisky, brukte sin burgunderr\u00f8de Mk2 2.4 b\u00e5de privat og i tjeneste i Oxford-omr\u00e5det. Bilen ble opprinnelig anskaffet av TV-selskapet for denne serien. I tiden etter Morse sin d\u00f8d, har bilen skiftet eiere et par ganger. I 2005 fikk den en grundig &laquo;nut and bolt&raquo; renovering som skal ha kostet mer enn 100 000 GBP. Deretter ble den solgt for en rekordsum til en britisk forretningsmann. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/morses-jaguar-to-ride-again-z6xqfdbbjg0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>I f\u00f8lge The Times<\/strong><\/a> regnes bilen som den aller mest ettertraktede bil som er noensinne er vist p\u00e5 skjerm. Den rager over biler som Agent 007&#8217;s Aston Martin, Herbie og &laquo;Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang&raquo;.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18774\" Modellene fikk en facelift med blant annet samme front som S-Type og smalere st\u00f8tfangere foran og bak. 240 fikk en ny 2.5 liters rekkesekser. 3.8-literen ble droppet. Videre ble det gjort en del besparelser, som vinylseter i stedet for skinn, &#8211; samt bortfall av t\u00e5kelys og picinic-bord bak.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nJaguar 340\/240 var egne modeller basert p\u00e5 Mk2. De har ikke like h\u00f8y verdi blant samlere av klassiske biler.
