Variomatic var forl\u00f8peren til dagens CVT-girkasse. DAF var eneste modell som tilb\u00f8d automatgir i en rimelig bil.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Variomatic<\/h3>\n<p>DAF oppfant sitt eget automatgir-konsept som de kalte for <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Variomatic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Variomatic<\/strong><\/a>. Egentlig verdens f\u00f8rste CVT-gir. I motsetning til dagens st\u00e5lbelter, hadde DAF et annet materiale i beltene. Jeg tror DAFs beltemateriale minner med om det vi finner i sm\u00e5 industrimaskiner og i landbruket. Den spesielle hviningen i de to reimene gjorde at man kunne h\u00f8re drivverket p\u00e5 lang avstand. Svenskene kalte doningene for &laquo;RemJohan&raquo;. Jeg tror ingen vet hvorfor. Men DAF ble ofte kj\u00f8rt av eldre mennesker som \u00f8nsket \u00e5 slippe \u00e5 gire. Kanskje en snill farbror som hette Johan? <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">DAF 66 ble Volvo<\/h3>\n<p>Modellen kom som 1973-modell. Etter at Volvo kj\u00f8pte DAF, fortsatte produksjonen av 66-modellen akkurat som f\u00f8r frem til og med modell\u00e5r 1980, &#8211; bare at n\u00e5 sto det &laquo;Volvo&raquo; i grillen, sammen med en skr\u00e5stilt kromlist &#8211; akkurat som de st\u00f8rre 240-modellene hadde. Dette er ikke alltid en fordel, i hvert fall ikke fra et trafikksikkerhets synspunkt. DAF skal ha lagt inn en fartssperre p\u00e5 senere modeller, men den m\u00e5 ha v\u00e6rt enkel \u00e5 fjerne. I hvert fall har revers-l\u00f8p med gamle DAF&#8217;er v\u00e6rt en stor folkeforlystelse i Nederland. Det m\u00e5 ha blitt krasjet tusenvis av biler i disse aktivitetene. For nesten samtlige biler endte opp som ikke-kj\u00f8rbare vrak etter disse l\u00f8pene.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17780\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17780\"
