En gentleman&#8217;s car som var i produksjon i over 20 \u00e5r basert p\u00e5 XJ-modellene over samme tid.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Bak rattet<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg har kj\u00f8rt XJS V12 serie I. &laquo;V\u00e5r&raquo; V12 var importert fra Sveits en gang p\u00e5 slutten av 90-tallet. Bilen hadde v\u00e6rt delvis skadet i en brann og f\u00e5tt byttet motor. Den var som en ny bil. Det er en spesiell f\u00f8lelse \u00e5 sitte bak rattet i en XJS med V12. Bilen f\u00f8ltes ikke spesielt stor p\u00e5 veien. Jeg husker at automatgir-spaken virket litt pinglete. Jeg hadde forestilt meg noe mer macho, noe man kunne skifte hurtigere med. Det gj\u00f8r du ikke i en XJS. Det er en gentleman&#8217;s car. Den f\u00f8res i gir med to fingre. Jeg husker vi gled nedover fra Olerud nord for Hamar og kj\u00f8rte en tur langs et idyllisk parti av Mj\u00f8sa ned mot Hamar sentrum. Kona mi satt ved siden av meg, og eieren &#8211; en kollega og venn &#8211; satt bak. Det er coup\u00e9 og ikke et hav av plass, men smakfullt interi\u00f8r. Serie I fra 1975-80, serie II fra 1981-90 og serie III fra 1991-96. Modellen har hele tiden v\u00e6rt basert p\u00e5 XJ-modellen over samme tidsrom. Serie I ble kun levert med en 5,4 liters V12-motor. I serie II ble motoren fobedret noe, med h\u00f8yere ytelser og lavere forbruk. I 1983 ble XJS tilbudt med 3,6-liters rekkesekser, hentet fra XJ. Utvendig er det lite som skiller de to seriene fra hverandre. Ett trekk er at serie II har en blank list p\u00e5 oversiden av front-st\u00f8tfangeren. Serie III representerer tiden da Ford tok over Jaguar. Da fikk XJS nye motorer &#8211; 6,0 V12 og 4,0 rekkesekser. Utvendig kan det v\u00e6re vanskelig \u00e5 oppdage endringene. Bakre sidevindu fikk en annen utforming og st\u00f8tfangerne fikk ogs\u00e5 en liten endring.
