Tidstypisk design som minner mye om Peugeot 605. Alfa 164 ble produsert fra 1987 til 1998. Gjennom levetiden ble bilene tilbudt med 2,0 Twin Spark, 2,0 turbo &#8211; b\u00e5de som rekkefirer og V6, samt 3,0 V6. Automatkassa i sistnevnte motor ble levert av tyske ZF, &#8211; og var for \u00f8vrig identisk med de som Audi brukte i sine V6&#8217;ere 2,6 liter og 2,8 liter. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Busso-motoren<\/h3>\n<p>Alfa Romeo 164 inng\u00e5r i en modellrekkef\u00f8lge basert p\u00e5 Alfa Romeo Alfa 6, 164 og 166. Disse modellene kunne leveres med den fine V6-motoren &#8211; kalt &laquo;Busso-motoren&raquo; &#8211; utformet av Giuseppe Busso&#8217;s &#8211; mange\u00e5rig konstrukt\u00f8r hos Alfa Romeo. Denne motoren s\u00f8rger ikke bare for skapelige ytelser, men er ogs\u00e5 sv\u00e6rt vakker \u00e5 se p\u00e5. Mange mente at 2-liters motoren ga bilen bedre kj\u00f8reegenskaper enn den langt tyngre V6-motoren.
