Det skulle bli en salgshit fra f\u00f8rste stund med tre motorvalg, &#8211; 1.2 og 1.5 liter, samt 1.5 GT, &#8211; en videref\u00f8relse av Kent-motoren. Fra 1964 fikk Cortina en facelift frem til modell\u00e5ret 1967, da den ble avl\u00f8st av ny modell. Faceliften omfattet blant annet en omarbeiding av grill, park- og blinklys i fronten, nytt dashbord, lufteventiler p\u00e5 C-stolpene og skivebremser p\u00e5 forhjulene. Cortina&#8217;en ble levert i f\u00f8lgende varianter: 2- og 4-d\u00f8rer sedan og 5-d\u00f8rer stasjonsvogn. Men at Cortina&#8217;ene var enkle, bidro til at de ble prisgunstige. Den spesielle 1,6-liters Twin Cam-motoren gjorde det stort i bilsport. Opprinnelig tror jeg motoren ga 106 HK. Det er vel ikke utenkelig at mange Cortina-eiere pynter bilen sin med Lotus-dekor, &#8211; men \u00e5pner du panseret, kan ingen ta feil.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2ingreslbcenter\">Ombygde biler<\/h3>\n<p>Ford Cortina egner seg godt til \u00e5 bygges opp til \u00e5 ta kraftigere motorer for bilsport eller som gateracer.
