Felles for mange av de amerikanske modellene p\u00e5 sidene v\u00e5re, er de er tatt inn til Norga via organisert import. Mercury Grand Marquis er en s\u00e5nn modell. Det finnes faktisk noen sv\u00e6rt f\u00e5 biler som ble tatt inn og f\u00f8rstegangsregistrert her i landet sent p\u00e5 70-tallet, men kan ikke huske hvem som tok dem inn &#8211; og det kan ha v\u00e6rt foreg\u00e5ende Marquis Coup\u00e9. Likhetstrekkene til stor Ford er godt synlige. Det er ingen hemmelighet at Marquis&#8217;ens opphav stammer fra Ford LTD\/Crown Victoria. Mercury Marquis (II) ble produsert for modell\u00e5rene 1979-1991 og utstyrt med Fords 302 V8 eller 351. Mercurys er ett hakk mer eksklusive enn Ford. Alle vet at det handler om \u00e5 &laquo;badging&raquo;. Man erstatter kjennemerker og &#8211; voila, s\u00e5 har man et nytt merke. Men Mercury&#8217;ene ser fantastiske ut.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Modellnavnet <em>Grand Marquis<\/em> dukket p\u00e5 slutten av 70-tallet. F\u00f8rste generasjon med dette modellnavnet ble produsert mellom 1979 og 1991.
