Ferrari hadde behov for \u00e5 homologisere et antall av sine nyutviklede V6-motorer. Til det, kreves et visst produksjonsantall &#8211; st\u00f8rre enn det Ferrari selv kunne greie. Ved \u00e5 sette motorene inn i en rimeligere Fiat-modell, greidde de \u00e5 f\u00e5 det til. Ferrari-motor i en Fiat-modell gjorde Fiat-modellen til en dr\u00f8mmebil for de fleste &#8211; noe den fremdeles er med sitt lekre, italienske design. Med motoren plassert foran er Fiat-modellen helt annerledes enn <em>Ferrari<\/em> Dino med samme motor midtplassert bak. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Fiat Dino 2000 og 2400 &#8211; begge V6<\/h3>\n<p>Det handlet om to V6-motorer. Den ene, en 2-liter fra (Ferrari) Dino 206 GT. Den andre, en 2,4-liter fra Dino 246 GT. Samme motorer ble benyttet i Fiat produksjonen &#8211; parallelt med Ferrari&#8217;s produksjon. Biler med 2-liters V6-motoren ble produsert mellom 1965 og 1969, og 2,4 fra 1969 til 1973. Dino ble laget i to varianter, &#8211; Coup\u00e9 og Spider. 2-litersmotoren ga 160 HK i Fiat (180 HK i Ferrari Dino 206 GT). 2,4-motoren ga 180 HK i Fiat (195 HK i Ferrari Dino 246 GT).
