Den f\u00f8rste selvstendige Audi-modellen, Audi 60, var visuelt sett nesten en kopi av DKW AutoUnion F102, som for \u00f8vrig delte mekanikk med DKW Autounion 1000, \u2013 som igjen stammet fra F91 &#8211; den samme modellen som du ser her. Alle DKW&#8217;ene var lette to-taktere med gode kj\u00f8reegenskaper. Men i dag betrakter vi jo ikke totaktere som s\u00e6rlig snobbete. DKW \u00f8nsket \u00e5 forandre dette ved \u00e5 innf\u00f8re begrepet &laquo;3=6&raquo; for \u00e5 indikere at 3-sylindret to-takt tilsvarte 6-sylindret fire-takt. Argumentasjonen gikk ut p\u00e5 at en firetakter trenger to sykluser for \u00e5 tenne alle 6 sylindre, mens totakteren tenner sine 3 p\u00e5 hver syklus &#8211; og da har begge motorene utf\u00f8rt samme jobb. I praksis &#8211; og utover mot 60-tallet var ikke totaktere noe \u00e5 briljere med. Men DKW <em>hadde<\/em> mange styrker. Begge bilene p\u00e5 denne siden tilh\u00f8rer Sonderklasse, men har ulike typenumre. Den lysebl\u00e5 er F91, mens den svart\/hvite er F93. F93 g\u00e5r ogs\u00e5 under navnet Grosser 3=6 fordi den ble bredere og lengere &#8211; og fikk \u00f8kt sporvidde. F93 fikk blant annet panorama bakrute, bedre bremser og innvendige endringer. F91-serien ble produsert fra 1953 og ble avl\u00f8st av F93 i 1955.
